Vicky Pattison admits she's 'heartbroken' just weeks before 'dream wedding' (2024)

Geordie Shore's Vicky Pattison is all set for the 'wedding of her dreams' with beau Ercan Ramadan, amidst managing a hectic work schedule.

The 36-year-old TV personality and Ercan, who have been an item since 2019, are heading down the aisle following his romantic proposal in Dubai last year.

Ercan, originally a labourer and builder, gained fame after joining The Only Way Is Essex cast in 2016.

Vicky hasn't shied away from sharing the challenges of wedding planning, recently confessing to her social media followers that she's felt "drained", the Mirror reports.

She's been pushing through a gruelling work routine, neglecting signs that she needed a break, suspecting glandular fever and battling a throat infection and abscess.

Despite some hiccups with the wedding preparations "spiralling out of control", Vicky is ecstatic about marrying Ercan in the stunning setting of Puglia, Italy, this September. Over 100 guests are expected to join them for the occasion.

Despite looking forward to the 'wedding of her dreams', the thought of the expenses involved still makes her wince.

The star has been busy balancing wedding planning with her numerous work projects, including her brand new E4 show Second-Hand Showdown and another upcoming two-part special, Destination Wedding.

In a chat with The Mirror about the reality of managing work and wedding planning, she expressed: "Everybody's in the same boat. Weddings are big business.

"They're so expensive. And I think, like, in particular people since covid, you know, like, I think we feel robbed of a couple of years of life, and I quite rightly so, you know, like we did have to stop with the big events and the spending time with your friends and family, and that's left a lasting mark.

"So I think as a nation, probably even on an international scale, people have this desire to makeup the lost time, to spend time with friends and family, to do it big. So, yeah, I think the wedding business has absolutely capitalised on that. No, no doubt about it.

"So they're f**king expensive. There's no other word for it. So, yeah, I've had to work. Everybody has to work. I'm extremely lucky. Like, I like my job. I'm hardly down the mines, am I?

"I've worked hard, but it's for the wedding of my dreams, you know? So I feel really, I feel excited. I do feel somewhat heartbroken every time I say big chunks of money going."

She also hinted that moments from her wedding journey will be showcased in her upcoming two-part wedding special on E4, Destination Wedding.

She revealed glimpses of her experience on the show: "You'll see bits of it on the show. There are moments where I'm really excited and, you know, just really invested in the planning element. And then there's times where I'm quite stressed out trying to balance it all. But I think that's also being a woman."

She light heartedly poked fun at her husband about his carefree attitude, saying he "isn't stressed" and "having a f**king lovely time."

Further adding with a quip: "Honestly, being a man is great. I'm honestly coming back as one," she said, drawing laughs.
