Hulk Hogan backs Mike Tyson over Jake Paul in ‘fight of the century’ Back to video
The retired WWE icon recently weighed in on the coming boxing spectacle between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, unironically calling it the “fight of the century” during an interview with TMZ.
He also made a surprising pick when you consider one of the combatants will be close to 60 years old when the opening bell rings and is currently battling an ulcer condition.
“When he gets focused, he will seek and destroy,” the 70-year-old Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, told TMZ. “I see that bad dog look in his eye now. It’s like when you don’t trust a bad dog, it might bite you at any time. That’s the look he’s got.
“I remember that look from 25 years ago, it’s kind of scary.”
Tyson, 57, hasn’t been in a sanctioned fight since 2005, when he lost to Kevin McBride. His professional record stands at 50-6, but he has lost three of past six fights.

He fought to a draw in an exhibition against Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020.
Paul, on the other hand, has fought 10 times over the past four years with a record of 9-1 with six knockouts. The 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer’s most recent fight this past March saw him stand victorious over Ryan Bourland in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Hogan also said that he is happy that the fight has been rescheduled after Tyson suffered an ulcer flareup last month during a cross-country flight, which led to paramedics treating Tyson onboard when the plane landed in Los Angeles.

While the bout originally was scheduled for July 20, it is now to take place Nov. 15. It will be streamed live on Netflix from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Tex., the home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.
“I’m excited about it,” Hogan said. “I’m kind of glad it’s rescheduled because I don’t want any excuses. I want both men at 100%.
“And I’ve got a feeling this is gonna be the fight of the century, brothers. This is gonna be a good one.”
Tyson also remains confident that he will dispatch the “Problem Child,” posting a video on social media last week saying: “Different date, same fate. Imma knockout Jake Paul.”
