Michael and I were at a trunk or treat at our church about 7 years ago when I had wassail for the first time. It was ah-mazing! I can remember thinking it was like apple pie in drink form. I had to know who had made it, and wouldn’t you know, it was the old family recipe of one of the church ladies. You are in for a treat my friends!

Ingredients for Crock Pot Wassail
8 cups apple cider
11.3-12 oz can of peach nectar
1 cup orange juice
1 cup cranberry apple juice
2-3 cups sugar, to taste
4 cinnamon sticks
How to Make Wassail in a Crock Pot
Combine all your in ingredients in a 5-6 quart crock pot
Cover and cook on high for 2 hours, stirring occassionally

The hack is easy enough: Simply place a sheet or two of paper towel between the lid and the pot, ensuring the seal remains tight. The paper towel will absorb excess moisture and prevent any condensation from dripping back onto the food.
A slow cooker and a Crockpot are the same thing, essentially. A slow cooker is an appliance of which there are lots of brands. Crockpot is one brand of slow cooker.
"high" will bring a full pot of cold-ish contents to boiling point in 20 minutes or so, but it's not powerful enough to power a full rolling boil. You can turn it on, do something else for "a while", then come back to turn it down to low.
Foil balls in a slow cooker are sometimes used to keep the food being cooked from soaking in liquid or rendered fat. They serve the same purpose a roasting rack does. Many slow cookers come with a rack that fits into them, or you can special order one.
If you cannot replace a lost or broken crockpot cover, and don't have the funds to buy a new [or used] crockpot, you can use aluminum foil to cover the top. Make sure that you pierce the foil to allow for expansion of the liquid in the ingredients and broth.
An instant pot might be a nice upgrade. Do you cook a lot of things that normally braise in the oven or cook on the stovetop for a long time? They cook much, much faster in a pressure cooker. That's really it's biggest advantage over a crock pot, it's much much faster.
If you are interested primarily in slow cooking, you should buy a dedicated slow cooker. They're more reliable with a range of slow-cooker recipes than an Instant Pot. We found Instant Pot multicookers specifically could not successfully slow-cook dense, high-volume recipes such as beef stew or pot roast.
Why should you use slow cooker liners? Slow cooker only keep cleanup fast and easy (after eight hours, food stuck to the pot can prove incredibly stubborn) but also protect your slow cooker itself from getting scratched and damaged from scrubbing.
Preheat the oven to about 160 C. Follow the slow cooker recipe, but use a baking dish with a lid instead of a crockpot or slow cooker. If the recipe calls for slow cooker setting, then divide the cooking time by 4. Eight hours on low then becomes 2 hours in the oven at 160 ºC.

To use the slow cooker for delicate dishes like salmon, or harder-to-remove items like stuffed peppers and baked goods, line it with a piece of parchment paper or aluminum foil that is long enough to come over the sides. The cooked food can then be easily lifted out and transferred to a serving platter fully intact.
The difference between "High" and "Low" on slow cookers seems to differ with every brand and model. One thing that is consistent, though, is that food takes seven to eight hours to reach a simmer point (around 210°) on low; versus three to four hours on high.
If a recipe calls for cooking on the HIGH setting for three hours, you can cook it for seven hours on the LOW setting instead. Or if a recipe calls for eight hours on HIGH, it can be cooked for up to 12 hours on LOW.
To prevent water from dripping back onto food in a slow cooker, some people place a clean, folded kitchen towel or a few layers of paper towels between the lid and the pot to absorb moisture. If you use the technique, make sure you still have a tight seal between the lid and the pot.
The next best option is to place your slow cooker on a baking sheet, a silicone baking mat, or a large wooden cutting board. All of these heat-resistant surfaces can also withstand moisture to prevent damage to your countertops.
